3rd Missouri Infantry

As of January 25, 2020, I have been selected to the Rank of Captain and have accepted the position of Adjutant for the First Missouri Battalion.

I wish to thank all of the 3rd Missouri members for your support over the years.  I have really enjoyed my time with the company at countless events over the past 17 years.  From Private to Color Sargent to Lieutenant to Captain and back to Lieutenant, you have always given  me your respect and friendship.  I especially wish to thank those members who supported me during my illness and recovery after my open heart surgery...For Boone Dodson in stepping up and taking the position of Captain when I was physically unable to continue in that position... for Howard Rollins in being a steadfast friend...and for everyone else who responded professionally under my command and leadership.  For all of the above,  I am eternally grateful. I will continue to do my utmost to serve as your Battalion Adjutant.

I was hesitant about taking this position in that my primary concern has always been the health and well being of the 3rd Missouri.  I do, however, feel that it is time to let the younger generation take over the reigns of the 3rd and take it to new heights.   It was difficult to make that choice, but I feel that I can serve the 3rd as well as all the companies in my new capacity.  I am, and always will be, a member of Crowley's 3rd Missouri Infantry.  I have agreed to stay on as the company Treasurer.  Feel free to contact me at anytime.  Thank you all again.  I will most assuredly will see you on the field in the upcoming campaigns.

Respectfully,  Paul Dittmeier
